BAUXITE
Bauxite is an aluminium ore and is the main source of aluminium. This form of rock consists mostly of the minerals gibbsite, boehmite, and diaspore, in a mixture with the two iron oxides goethite and hematite, the clay mineral kaolinite, and small amounts of anatase.
It is found in two different forms:
1. Calcined Bauxite

Calcination is a thermal treatment process in presence of air applied to ores and other solid materials to bring about a thermal decomposition, phase transition, or removal of a volatile fraction. The calcination process normally takes place at temperatures below the melting point of the product material.
Following are the varied industry applications of Calcined Bauxite:
-
Steel Flux in Steel Plants
-
Refractories
-
Welding Electrodes
-
Road Surface Aggregate
-
Abrasives
-
Aluminium Compounds
